Biography: Yumi Sakugawa

I was born and bred in Southern California. I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Fine Art and Japanese. During my university days, I studied abroad in Singapore and traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia. After teaching English in Japan for a year, I came back to Los Angeles to work for Intent. I am hooked to be part of a team that is always pushing itself to become a better online community for anyone who is seeking more knowledge on personal, social and global wellness. .

Other things: I volunteer with the Tuesday Night Project (www.tuesdaynightproject.org) in Los Angeles, one of the longest-running free public art series in downtown Los Angeles. I am a lifelong student of DIY Grad School. My other job is an artist and aspiring graphic novelist, and you can find my artwork and blog at www.yumisakugawa.com.
